Duration
18 Months
Programme includes:
1 month other specialty posting, 1 week each (Orientation program)
Hands on training in various diagnostic procedure like:
- Humphrey field analysis
- Optical coherence tomography
- Pachymetry
- Ultrasound
- Gonioscopy applanation tonometry
- Non-contact tnometry
- Pre-operative work up for filtering surgeries and combined surgeries
Candidate gets to observe and learn following surgical and laser procedures:
- yag iridotomy
- yag suturolysis
- cyclocryoprexy
- trabeculectomy
- trabeculectomy + trabeculotomy
- combined cataract and filtering surgery
- bleb needling
- 5 FU injections in post trab cases
Academics:
- There will be scheduled lectures on glaucoma
- Candidate is expected to present a paper in national /state ophthalmic society during his tenure
- Candidate should participate in regular clinical meetings for postgraduates .
- They must maintain their log book .
- There will be an exit exam at the end of tenure.
Community Service:
- Candidate is expected to attend glaucoma screening camps and related camps during his/her tenure.
Stipend
Rs, 40,000 per month
